Can you help educate me?

As far as the military is concerned, most military vote Rep. because they believe in a strong and aggressive approach towards other nations especially our foes. They signed up for their service willfully and know that they may die during their duty. They consider themselves warriors and thus death and injury are part of the possible outcome. To them, a strong military is best for diplomacy. I tend to vote democrat but I have many family members in the military.
