Do you believe there is nothing wrong with maintaining a fixed population, or even decreasing it when the circ?

From an environmental point of view, it makes sense to decrease the population. From a psychological aspect, reducing crowding is a great idea. From the standpoint of the economy, you need a gradually-expanding population to pay for the amenities that we have come to depend on. Guess which will win out.
